Youth Activity Schedule

Calvary Baptist Church

Fall-Winter 2006

 

            Can you believe it? Another year has nearly slipped by. We had an active summer and now with school well underway it doesn’t look like things will slow down much. Also Terri and I would like to thank you for helping with the youth fund raiser; we raised nearly $1000 for use on a spring 2007 event “Carowinds Amusement park!” Terri and I want to now share some upcoming youth events with you.

 

October

The first thing that comes to mind is Calvary’s fall festival on October the 28th. I would like us to sponsor a basketball basket shoot, bean bag toss, hay ride, cotton candy booth, and perhaps a water balloon throwing contest. All of these activities will need your help with coordinating the rules and prizes for the kids. Also for the month of October we will be filming several video clips, staring (YOU) our youth. We will have a farewell pizza party for Cora as she and her family move out of town, we will miss you Cora, God Bless and Keep you!

 

New for Sunday Nights:

“Dare to be a Daniel” by Franklin Graham, Starting October 1st at 6:30pm. I encourage you to take this course and get to know our God better and learn how to explain to others why you are a Christian. But most importantly, Dare to be a Daniel will teach you how to share your faith with those who do not have a personal relationship with our savior, Jesus Christ.

 

Sunday Night Children’s Choir:

Children’s Choir continues and many of you are helping with the youth drama in preparation for the Christmas musical. Thank you for serving in this ministry.

 

November

It should be getting cold, and it’s closer to the Christmas season, so let’s all get in the spirit early in November with a session of ice skating on Saturday the 4th at the Ice House. I’m also working on a date for us to help the homeless at the soup kitchen, this will happen on the 11th of November @ 9:00am. Did Jesus have compassion on the poor and homeless? Please plan on taking part in this ministry. We will also attend a ball game or two in the month of November as well as schedule a Game Night at the church.

 

December

Christmas Caroling on Saturday the 23rd is a must! For those of you who missed last years caroling, you really missed a wonderful time. Christmas is a time of giving, so we will be purchasing food and gifts for a needy family and presenting them on Saturday December 9th. Last but not least, the youth Christmas party will be held on Wednesday Night December 20th at Calvary. We will exchange gifs from the $5 to $10 range as well as judging for the best Christmas costume. Let’s go and do some Christmas shopping at the mall, date TBA.

 

January

January 7th at 6:30pm: We kick off rehearsal of a new and exciting drama “Columbine”. Be a part of this powerful presentation where miracles occurred in the mist of tragedy. Singing, Drama, Narration, and Music parts are needed for this Drama.

In addition to the above, we will (schedule in) additional activities as time allows.  See you there!
