Summer Youth Schedule 2006
May 20th - Nature of the Game Paintball (9:00am – 1:45pm)
We will meet at Calvary at 9:00am and will return at 1:45pm. Please have your youth bring
a bag lunch; cold drinks will be provided. Safety gear and glasses will be
provided at the site, however have your youth wear layers of old clothing,
paintballs are messy and paintballs can sting!!!
May 31st - End of the Year Party / High School Graduation
Celebration (We will meet in the Fellowship Hall during our Wednesday Night
Youth Service at 6:30pm) Please
bring a covered dish to share.
June 16th - Boating to Masonboro Island (We will
meet at the Wrightsville Beach
boat ramp at 9:00am) Parents can pick
you up at the boat ramp at 1:30pm. Your
youth will need a towel, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a bag lunch. Your youth are
welcome to bring fishing rods, tackle, and bait if they desire to fish on the
beach. I will provide a cooler full of soft drinks and snacks. Youth “BOYS” group.
June 19~23rd - Wednesday Night - Parent Night (June 21st @ 6:30pm, I am presently looking for a
couple of parents to lead the Wednesday night youth session on June 21st.
Lesson materials and ideas can be provided if needed) I will be away on vacation this week; my family and I will be
leaving Sunday afternoon June 18th and will return on Saturday night
June 24th.
June 27th - Wilmington Sharks Baseball (The game is
at 7:00pm, we will meet at Calvary
at 6:00pm) The
game tickets will be purchased courtesy of Calvary, but
your youth will need to bring money for their food and drinks at the game.
June 30th - Girl’s shopping trip to Westfield Mall
(6:00pm - 9:00pm) We
will meet at the Ruby Tuesday’s entrance.
July 7th - Boating to Masonboro Island (We will
meet at the Wrightsville Beach
boat ramp at 9:00am) Parents can pick you
up at the boat ramp at 1:30pm. Your
youth will need a towel, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a bag lunch. Your youth are
welcome to bring fishing rods, tackle, and bait if they desire to fish on the
beach. I will provide a cooler full of soft drinks. “High
School” group.
July 14th - Myrtle Waves Water Park Myrtle Beach, SC
(We will meet at the church parking lot at 8:30am
and will return at 7:30pm) The water park is open from 10:00am
– 6:00pm. Items to bring: towel, sunscreen, sun glasses, money for
locker, food and drinks. I am trying to get a group rate so I do not have a
price available yet.
July 21st - Boating to Masonboro Island (We will
meet at the Wrightsville Beach
boat ramp at 9:00am) Parents can pick you
up at the boat ramp at 1:30pm. Your
youth will need a towel, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a bag lunch. Your youth are
welcome to bring fishing rods, tackle, and bait if they desire to fish on the
beach. I will provide a cooler full of soft drinks. “JR High” group.
July 28th - Game Day/Karaoke – (We will meet in the
Fellowship Hall 9:00am – 4:00pm) The youth are encouraged to bring their games as well. We
will provide lunch, drinks and snacks as well as set up extra televisions for
electronic game play.
Aug. 4th - Boating to Masonboro Island (We will
meet at the Wrightsville Beach
boat ramp at 9:00am) Parents can pick you
up at the boat ramp at 1:30pm. Your
youth will need a towel, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a bag lunch. Your youth are
welcome to bring fishing rods, tackle, and bait if they desire to fish on the
beach. I will provide a cooler full of soft drinks. “Entire
Group” group.
Aug. 11th - Youth Family Cook-out (In the
Fellowship Hall, Calvary Baptist Church 3:00pm until 7:00pm)
We will cook hamburgers and hot dogs, please bring
your families. There will be games and activities, do not wear good clothes!!
You will get wet, you may also get dirty!!
Aug. 18th - Boating to Masonboro Island (We will
meet at the Wrightsville Beach
boat ramp at 9:00am) Parents can pick
you up at the boat ramp at 1:30pm. Your
youth will need a towel, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a bag lunch. Your youth are
welcome to bring fishing rods, tackle, and bait if they desire to fish on the
beach. I will provide a cooler full of soft drinks. “Girls”
group.
Aug. 25th - Skating at Jellybeans (6:30pm until 10:30pm)
This will take us through the summer vacation break. I
am working on events for the fall.
Additional information, an event may be re-scheduled/changed due to
inclement weather, i.e. boating.
FYI, Bathroom facilities are not
available at Masonboro Island,
I will have a roll of TP available for emergency use.
I have scheduled several boating
trips to make sure that everyone will get at least one chance to go boating if
they choose to participate.
